Tastings

DID YOU KNOW?

To twist or not to twist? What are the benefits of screw caps on wine?

  • Screwcaps eliminate the risk of oxidation (exposure to air) which can chemically cause undesirable changes in the wine and lead to deterioration.
  • Eliminates the risk of cork taint which causes a musty aroma and taste.
  • Can be a positive component for aging wines as it preserves freshness and varietal character.
  • Lastly, it’s so convenient! Simply twist the cap to reseal and preserve the quality of the wine for a longer period of time. 8% of wineries today are using screwcaps to preserve their wines including big names such as Yalumba, Penfolds, Jacobs Creek, Henschkie, and Bonny Doon.
